Four Reasons Why Staging a Home Matters

Staged Living Room - Increase Selling Price of Your Home

You never get a second chance to make a first impression! That adage holds true even when it comes to selling your home. That’s why staging your home for sale and getting your house market-ready before listing is so important. At Malfer & Associates, our time-tested approach to successful sales always includes professional staging services at no additional cost.

Why Does Staging a Home Matter?

  1. Staging sets your home apart in a crowded marketplace. When listing your home, you’re positioning against every similar listing on the market. A full 96% of buyers’ agents surveyed by the National Association of Realtors said staging a home to sell affects how buyers view a listing.
  2. Staging is essential in the digital age. Ninety-seven percent of home buyers begin their search online. That means visuals like photography and videography must make a great impression onscreen and in person. Nearly half of buyers (46%) say they are more willing to walk through a home viewed online.
  3. Staging helps buyers envision themselves in the home. Whether drawing attention to a room’s best features or subtly suggesting a use for a bonus space, staging gives potential buyers a starting point for imagining their new life. In fact, 82% of buyers’ agents said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home.
  4. Staging your home brings in higher offers. It’s no surprise that buyers are willing to pay more for homes that look their best. According to the NAR, 52% of agents say that staging brings in higher offers compared to similar un-staged listings. Of those, 38% believe staging boosts offers by 6% or more.

“Kristin and Brent were great about walking through the house and figuring out the best way to show it to its best advantage. They brought in their stager, Linda, who did an amazing job getting our house ready to sell. When most people think about having their house staged, they are probably thinking about some fancy hand towels and a few accessories. That was far from the case with Malfer & Associates. They brought in furniture, large paintings, pillows, and a boatload of accessories. Our house has never looked fancier, and it definitely helped to sell it quickly. Our house went under contract within a few days of going on the market.” – Reema S.
