While Kansas City may be known for our Plaza lights, we may start to be known for our holiday pop-up bars next! Holiday bars have become a December staple around KC and are such a fun way to get out and about and share some time with friends and family (21+) during this festive season. Be sure to plan for your visits as many of these popular spots require reservations and sell out fast!
Miracle – Plaza and Power & Light
Miracle is one of the “original” pop-up bars here in KC and has moved through a couple of
locations over the years. It is a nationwide brand so may be the most recognizable logo, too!
During the 2022 season, you’ll find the Miracle pop-up bar in two spots: Miracle Plaza and
Miracle Power & Light. They each open the week of Thanksgiving. Be sure to go online to get
reservations ahead of your visit!
Winter Skies – Downtown Kansas City
If you have lived in Kansas City for a while, you are sure to remember the rotating restaurant
atop the Sheraton Crown Center. Known for some of the best views in the city, this spot was
a classic in our city, and it is back for the winter! Although Winter Skies won’t move anymore,
it will still have amazing city views for this fun pop-up bar. Reservations have been very
tricky to get so far, so we are hoping additional spots will open up for this one! If you don’t
end up getting to make it into Winter Skies this holiday season, just looking at their photos on
Instagram may bring you back to your childhood memories of the famous restaurant!
Snowbound – at Chicken N’ Pickle North Kansas City
This retro Aprés-Ski-themed pop-up bar located atop the Chicken N’ Pickle rooftop is back!
From the “Ski Ya Later” to the “Adjust Your Altitude”, you’re going to love the fun drinks and
atmosphere at Snowbound. Reservations cost $15 and can be made up to two weeks in
advance. The fee includes a small bites buffet of Spinach Artichoke Dip, Meatballs, and
Holiday Snack Mix plus, no fees are going to waste if reservations have to be canceled as the
money will be donated to the Chicken N Pickle Foundation!
Sippin’ Santa – Westport, Prairie Village, and Kansas City, KS
Sippin’ Santa is a beach-themed favorite inside Julep in Westport that has now expanded to
both Taco Republic locations in Corinth and KCK! Reservations aren’t required here but are
highly recommended. A portion of the $15 reservation fee is being donated to the AAPI
Victory fund as well as Children’s Mercy Hospital. Don’t worry, Sippin’ Santa also has a
merchandise menu where you can purchase the fun cups like coconuts to enjoy your tropical
holiday cocktails all season long!
Nine Zero One Igloo Bar – Country Club Plaza
Enjoy a night inside your very own igloo atop the Fontaine Hotel on the Country Club Plaza at
Nine Zero One Igloo Bar! In addition to igloos, this year they are introducing a log cabin and a
glamping experience. A specially crafted seasonal menu has been put together by the chef to
enjoy while there. Pricing varies for this popular spot and is made per igloo or experience, so
you will want to make sure to rally together your group ahead of time for this this holiday
pop-up bar! The photo-op spots are endless here.
Tinsel Town – Downtown Kansas City
The popular KC spot, Tom’s Town Distillery, is turning to Tinsel Town again this year! The
lounge is turning into complete holiday mode with Christmas decor galore, holiday-themed
cocktails, Christmas music, and more. There’s no cost to get your reservations at Tinsel
Town!
Rec the Halls – Downtown Kansas City
Another KC fav is turning into a Holiday pop-up bar again this year! Boulevard Beer Tours &
Rec Center is turning the fourth floor into a magical experience with holiday-inspired drinks
made from their most popular sips. Go home with keepsake glassware, have fun on the
shuffleboard courts and enjoy the holiday season at Rec the Halls! There is a $5 cover charge
but the seating here is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A portion of the cover will
benefit Kansas City G.I.F.T
How the Conductor Stole Christmas – Union Station
The Conductor Club inside Kansas City’s well-known Union Station is known for its seasonal
pop-up bars all year long, so this year’s How the Conductor Stole Christmas is sure to be a hit.
Reservations are required and only $5/person, but they sell out quickly! Spots are only
released every two weeks ahead of time on Fridays at 10 am, so you want to be sure to set a
reminder ahead of time to snag your preferred date! Follow along on their Instagram page

Fetch the Halls – North Kansas City
From Michael Scott and the entire cast of The Office to Stranger Drinks, Vignettes Bar is
known for their amazingly themed pop up bars – and their holiday bar will be no different!
Holiday pop-up bar meets Mean Girls for the 2022 theme: Fetch the Halls. Trivia on
Wednesdays, Music Bingo on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays you can watch the live music
“talent show” performances. You can even sign the Burn Book here! Reservations are open
and $5.
Who’s Holiday Party – Shawnee
The Social Bar & Grill in Shawnee is turning into Whoville for the first time this holiday season!
Enjoy Grinch-themed cocktails and other food options as well at Who’s Holiday Party.
Reservations are required ahead of time and are $5.
